ESTATE PLANNING

Estate planning at Huizenga Law means helping you control your assets while you’re alive and able. It means taking care of you and your loved ones when you become disabled. And it means giving what you have to the people you care about on the schedule you choose.

We’re honored that you trust us to take care of you and your family, and we hope to strengthen that trust through every step of our LegacyGuardSM process.

We’re mailing you a couple of forms to complete, but if you prefer to fill them out on your computer, you can access the Confidential Financial Statement (CFS), Intake Form, and Concerns Assessment in the Start Here folder below.

Finally, check out this short video about what you can expect from our first meeting: the Mutual Interview!

Welcome back to your client portal! Now that you signed the Engagement Agreement, you’ve entered Part 2 of our LegacyGuardSM Process: Design.

Between now and when you return to the office for your Design Meeting, our team will be hard at work getting things ready for you. In fact, we’re already building your CASL and setting up your Pre-Alignment Asset Report.

There’s a couple simple things we’d like you to work on as well, including making some decisions about who should have roles to play in your estate plan. Once you’ve made your selections, you can fill out the Role Casting form in the Pre-Design folder below.

Check out this video to learn more about your homework and to see what you can expect from our upcoming Design Meeting.

If you’re not feeling a sense of accomplishment following our Design Meeting, you should be. You’ve designed a plan that will keep you in control until you decide otherwise. You’ve made decisions about who will manage your affairs when you’re no longer able to do so. You’ve defined when your assets should be distributed and who should receive those distributions. Well done!

As soon as we wrapped up the Design Meeting, we started putting your decisions into their final form. If you haven’t been already, soon you’ll be alerted by mail and email to review a draft of your Name and Fiduciary Summary. When it’s ready, you can find that draft under Your Documents below or just wait for us to mail you a hard copy.

This video will give you an idea of the agenda for the Sign and Align Meeting. We’ll see you soon!

Medicaid Planning

Life should get simpler as we get older. Unfortunately, reality often works just the opposite. Right now, you’re struggling with a difficult physical and emotional transition while trying to deal with paying for long-term care services and deciphering programs like Medicare, Social Security, and maybe even veterans’ benefits.

At Huizenga Law, our LegacyGuardSM Process gives you confidence that those financial puzzles have solutions. We take on the financial stress, so you can focus on time with family. We take care of the legal concerns, so you can take care of the human ones.

We’ve put together a short video to help you prepare for our upcoming meeting. Check it out to learn about your next step on the road to peace of mind.

We’re honored that you trust us to take care of the financial concerns, and encourage you to spend time with your loved one rather than worrying about finances. You’re now in Phase Two of our Legacy Guard Process: Design.

Medicaid is a federal and state program, and with two sets of rules to know and understand, there’s a lot to learn and keep track of. We’ve already answered some of your questions, but at our upcoming Design Meeting, we’ll walk you through the maze of regulations and show you where your specific eligibility issues are hiding. Then we’ll show you the solutions that are available and help you pick the options that best accomplish your goals.
